National telecoms infrastructure specialist MJ Quinn is rolling out a telematics system to enhance driver safety, boost operational efficiency and support its sustainability goals.

The company operates a growing fleet of circa 3,000 commercial vehicles and has deployed Webfleet technology across more than 800 vehicles, with plans to extend the technology across its entire fleet.

This includes hundreds of new vans assigned to engineers trained through MJ Quinn’s in-house academy programme.

Webfleet has become the official data sponsor of the EV Rally 2025 and will be monitoring the performance of around 15 participating vehicles.

The EV Rally – this year called the EXPLORER EV Rally – will embark on a new five-day journey across the UK from 1st September, testing the capabilities of electric vehicles while exploring clean energy and sustainable mobility.

By installing Lightfoot’s open-platform telematics technology into vehicles, Drax customers will receive advanced data insights about usage, driver behaviour and vehicle status, allowing them to optimise fleet performance, efficiency and sustainability.

Webfleet has launched an EV Transition Tool to support businesses transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs) or expanding their EV fleets.

In collaboration with energy and mobility industries, the Webfleet EV Transition Tool - part of the EV Services Platform - is designed to simplify the process of transitioning to electric vehicles using a single platform.

By leveraging their own fleet data, customers can assess their readiness for electrification, estimate the total cost of ownership (TCO) for going electric, the operational cost and CO2 savings.

Dynamon has launched a new 'Synthetic Telematics' feature, which allows businesses to run a virtual electric fleet, modelling how vehicles will perform in real world conditions.

The technology, similar to that used by aerospace manufacturers, can either take existing telematics data or create its own for commercial vehicle fleets that don’t have the information, or can’t apply it.

VEV provides an end-to end EV transition solution from EV fleet strategy through site design to operation.

As well as initial site electrification, charge point infrastructure installation and electric vehicle sourcing and financing, the company also supports ongoing EV fleet operations.

Organic veg box company Riverford is using Webfleet technology to overcome EV range anxiety, manage routes better and navigate efficiently to charge points.

The software is helping Riverford to track not only vehicle location but also battery health, remaining driving range and real-time energy consumption for their 65 electric delivery vans, navigating drivers to their nearest charge point when they’re running low.

The company has already electrified almost a third of its fleet and is on track to become a 100 per cent final mile electric delivery fleet by 2025.

Webfleet has launched Webfleet Cold Chain, a single-platform solution that helps temperature-controlled fleets maintain cargo quality and safety, which is key to avoiding extra costs from damaged goods or compliance issues.

Refrigerated cargo must be transported within a specific temperature range. Inconsistent temperatures can damage goods, such as medicines, foods and electronics. Maintaining temperature consistency is also important for public safety, helping mitigate the risk of foodborne illnesses.
