Cliveden-National Trust has partnered with LEVC to offer sustainable and accessible transportation to the historic estate in Buckinghamshire with the supply of a TX Access taxi.

The TX Access taxi is a fully wheelchair-accessible and allows visitors to explore Cliveden-National Trust's 376 acres of gardens and historical landmarks with comfort and ease. This service was particularly significant over the Easter period, where it enabled all guests, including those with mobility challenges, to experience the full splendour of the estate.

£3.4 million for taxi wireless-charging trial

The Department for Transport has announced £3.4 million for trials for wireless charging of electric taxis in Nottingham.

Wireless charging at taxi ranks could provide an alternative to plugs and chargepoints, meaning multiple taxis can recharge at once, supporting drivers to charge up more easily. It would also reduce clutter on our streets.

The new technology could also be rolled out more broadly for public use, helping everyday drivers of electric vehicles charge more easily on the go.

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is launching its electric TX taxi in Japan.

The original London taxi has been redesigned in the form of the TX, which combines more than 80 miles of zero-emissions pure electric range with the flexibility of a total electrically driven range of 372 miles - made possible thanks to the on-board range-extender. The class leading 8.45m turning circle allows drivers to negotiate tight spaces and narrow city streets with unparalleled manoeuvrability.

The London EV Company (LEVC) has opened three new dealerships in Nottingham, Slough and Southampton for its TX range extended electric taxi

The addition of these new dealers will also underpin local authorities’ efforts to improve urban air quality by introducing zero emissions-capable taxis across the UK.

LEVC recently celebrated a record September with its best month of sales in company history: 352 examples of the TX were sold, building on month-on month sales growth since April this year.

Taxis will now be exempt from the premium rate of vehicle excise duty thanks to new legislation.

This will reduce costs for taxi drivers and companies who purchase zero-emission capable taxis over conventional petrol or diesel models.

Michael Ellis, Roads Minister, said: "Taxis are an iconic feature of our streets and by introducing financial incentives for the most environmentally friendly taxis and improving air quality in city centres, we are proudly putting our money where our mouth is."
